Would like information on my father's (Erling R. Bjelland)family. He was born in Nov 1908 and raised on a farm in the Hoffman area. He served in the Army during WWII and moved to California after the war. He had a brother named Richard who served in the Navy during WWII and later settled in California. He also had a sister named Bergett (not sure of spelling) who married Bona Pearson. They also moved to California but maintained a summer house on Elbow Lake. My fater worked on various farms as part of thrashing crews and was also a carpenter. I believe he had additional brothers and sisters. His parents emigrated from southern Norway in the late 1800s.I recall him mentioning the names Ellen, Jasper and Leonard, but I don't know if they were family or friends.

Looking for information on Belle MacRose and Peter McKenzie, distant cousins who lived in Herman, Minnesota during the early years of this century. They were both alive in 1931, but quite aged. They were either Scottish immigrants or at most first generation Americans.

Henry PARKS. Need spouses name and birth place. Henry PARKS moved to MN in 1878. He was enumerated #22 in Elbow Lake on May 6, 1885. His wife died sometime in 1885. Had children James, Cora, and Sadie born in NY, and Albert and Archie born in MN. Second wife was Jessie J. ??? Children by Jessie R. were Albina (1890), Caroline (1891), George O. (1893), and Ethel R. (1895). Moved to Henrietta in 1893 and was enumerated on June 11, 1895 #43 in Henrietta township(Hubbard). Can any MN folks check the 1885 state census for his first wifes name. Or anyone have the 1880 MN soundex for P620 or check 1880 census for Elbow Lake for the Henry Parks. Archie Parks married Mable Soper in Park Rapids in 1905. Thanks!

I am researching Ecelia Lund, who was born in Herman, Minnesota on September 4, 1896. She was adopted by the Lund family shortly after birth. I am attempting to find out who her birth parents were. This research is being done for her son Lyle, who is in ill health and would like to know about his mother's birth family. I would certainly appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

This is the second query on the family of Ecelia Lund. I have found additional information regarding her family. Ecelia was adopted by the Sigvard and Melia (Amelia Lund) Ruth family shortly after she was born in Herman, Minnesota, on September 4, 1896. According to the existing records from Grant County, there was an Aleda Azelia (Acelia, Ecelia) Carlson born on that same date in Herman, Minnesota, to C. E. Carlson and Anna Carlson (both from Sweden). It is probable that it is the same child. If anyone can shed some light on this I would very much appreciate it. I would like to know what became of the Carlson family?

I am seeking information on the birth parents of Ecelia Ruth, who was born on September 4, 1896, in Herman, Minnesota, and was adopted by Sigvard and Melia (Amelia Lund) Ruth of New Richland, Minnesota. Ecelia was adopted shortly after birth, and may have been the daughter of E. C. and Anna Carlson, who were two Swedish emigrants. Her name could have been listed as Aleda Acelia Carlson on the birth and adoption records. Ecelia later married Fred H. Miller, and they lived in Waseca, Minnesota. Some of Melia Lund's relatives ran a lumber company in the Barrett, Minnesota, area at one time, and also lived in Herman, Minnesota. That family may have played a large role in the adoption proceedings. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Four members of my great-grandmothers family died suddenly in about 1883. They were farming in Traverse county. According to family stories, they succumbed to a disease which had come over with a visitor from Scotland. Does anyone on this list know whether there were documented epidemics in Traverse/Grant counties in the early 1880s? Thanks.
